At 1433 AH, a ministerial decision was issued to establish the College of Applied Industrial Technology (CAIT), to keep pace with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and to be an important tributary in providing Jazan Economic City (JEC) with technically qualified graduates equipped with knowledge and applied sciences in order to contribute and participate in the development of our dear country.
The college’s distinguished location has played a role in offering Intermediate Diplomas that serve the needs of the region and society through 3 scientific departments, they are:
1- Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET),
2- Electrical Engineering Technology (EET), and
3- Chemical Engineering Technology (CET).
The college includes an elite group of competent faculty members, whose expertise has contributed to all of the college’s programs obtaining full international academic accreditation from the ABET organization.
The college focuses on developing students' abilities and refining their skills by providing intensive training at the end of each year to enhance the students' professional side and gain them many skills, in addition to field visits as part of the training.
The college’s program plans are also based on students completing a graduation project as a graduation requirement in order to enhance their applied skills and give them sufficient time to develop the projects’ outcomes.
Also, the college holds a graduation projects exhibition every year, through which college students present applied engineering and technical models that enrich and contribute to finding solutions to a number of engineering problems, in the presence of a number of employment agencies in the government and private sectors, and through it, partnerships are built and documented. The exhibition also contributes in creating employment opportunities for graduates and creating a field for cooperation, exchange of visits and professional meetings.
The college is interested in designing development programs, such as the “Skilled Technician” program, which is concerned with improving and enhancing students’ abilities and skills, such as communication skills, writing technical reports, as well as effective presentation skills, building a CV, and dealing with personal interviews.
To ensure the quality of the outputs and enhance confidence between the employment sector and the college, CAIT applied the Exit Exam to measure the quality of the outputs and to build continuous improvement and development plans for the programs in a way that enhances the graduate’s efficiency and the extent to which he keeps pace with the rapid development in the field of engineering and technology and contributes to his competition in the fields of industry, as the employment percentage for the college’s outputs reached 2023. (78%) is among the high employment rates for graduates of Jazan University, the highest employment rates among public universities, according to the recently announced National Labor Observatory report.
Our mission at the College of Industrial Applications is to meet the industrial needs in the Jazan region and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for qualified technicians, by providing high-quality technical programs and building many strategic partnerships, contributing to the development and renaissance of the nation.
