His Excellency the President of Jazan University, Prof. Dr. Mar’ei bin Hussein Al-Qahtani emphasized the role entrusted to the Student Advisory Council, adding that the participation of male and female students in decision-making is a national responsibility. This would enhance their sense of belonging to the country, in addition to their contribution to continuous scientific and knowledge development, aid the University in achieving its strategy in improving its educational environment and achieving their aspirations to excel in their studies.

This came during His Excellency’s meeting with the members of the First Supreme Student Advisory Council for the academic year 1442 AH at the University City in the presence of the Vice President of the Council, the Vice-President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Hassan Ishaq, and the Council’s Secretary, Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Othman Hakami, through video conferencing.

His Excellency stated that the student candidates have a responsibility to be the best ambassadors for their fellow students in all colleges and should work to communicate their voices directly to the University administration, explaining that the University’s role is to work to solve everything that hinders their studies in all the aspects.

The Secretary of the Council, Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Othman bin Musa Hakami, indicated that during the meeting, the topics on the agenda were reviewed, including introducing student rights and duties, establishing their affiliation with the University and outlining all the student activities during the current semester (through distance education).
