The first Forum for Developing Study Plans at Jazan University recommends supporting professional certifications

The first Forum for the development of study plans at Jazan University, was organised by the University Vice Presidency for Academic Affairs and sponsored by His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Mar’ei bin Hussein Al-Qahtani, this morning at the College of Arts and Humanities auditorium. The forum recommended taking into account the requirements of academic accreditation, labor market requirements, support for professional certificates, and the presence of early exit points when building the program plan.
The recommendations also included the necessity of unifying the courses of the college requirements to serve the nature of the programs, designing multiple competitive exit points during the academic programs in line with the needs of the labor market and contributing to the development of competencies for the graduate, and emphasis on professional certificates as a necessity for the graduate’s career, provided that this is adopted as a strategic initiative at the level of the university and academic programs, ensuring the building of learning outcomes in line with the requirements for obtaining professional certificates, and building interdisciplinary specializations between programs in accordance with the university’s goals and requirements for building such programs in a way that contributes to achieving learning outcomes that meet the needs of the labor market.
The forum included the presentation of a number of scientific papers. The Academic Affairs Adviser at the President’s Office, Dr. Ghaleb Suwaidi, presented the first paper entitled “Building Academic Programs, Determinants and Standards.” A member of the Standing Committee for Plans and Curricula, Dr. Khaled Moukley, presented a paper entitled “Decisions of University Requirements, Reality and Hope.” A member Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Dr. Jamil Al-Omrani, presented a paper entitled “Exit Points for the Academic Program in the Light of the Saudi Standard Classification.” Dr. Hanan Bosly, a member of the Permanent Committee for Plans, Curricula and the Academic System, presented a paper entitled “Professional Certificates… Their Relationship to Scientific Disciplines and Their Impact on the Saudi Labor Market”, Dr. Walid Zakri, a member of the Permanent Committee for Plans and Curricula, presented a paper entitled "Guide for the Development of Major, Sub and Interdisciplinary Specialties".
