Jazan University: Media Department

His Excellency the President of Jazan University, Prof. Dr. Mar’ei bin Hussein Al-Qahtani, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and to His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Crown Prince - may God preserve them - for the generous support that education has received in this year’s budget. The President noted that 185 billion riyals  have been allocated to education and this reiterates the leadership's support for the education sector so that we continue the progress, development and innovation.

This was at the fourth session of University Council’s meeting today morning, which was held in the administrative tower, in the presence of the Secretary-General for University Council Affairs, Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulaziz Al-Saleh, the university’s vice deans, deans and deans of faculties and supporting deanships.

The Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Secretary of the University Council, Prof. Muhammad bin Hassan Abu Rasin, stated that the council took a number of decisions and recommendations, including: appointing 28 Saudi faculty members and approving scholarships of 42 male and female teaching assistants and lecturers to obtain Master’s and doctoral degrees in different disciplines. A Master’s degree was awarded to 4 male and female students.

The Council also approved the procedural guide for the requests of a part-time consultant, in addition to agreeing to change the name of the Bachelor’s program (Tourism Management) at the College of Business Administration to (Tourism and Hotel Management), and agreeing to re-form the members of the permanent committee for scholarships and training for one year, and agreeing to re-form the committee. And approval of the nomination of the Institute of Research and Consulting Services to contract with researchers and consultants to implement the project contract “Prince Faisal bin Fahd Prize for Sports Research”, “Implementation of pesticide efficiency test”, and approval of the appointment of a financial controller for the independent accounts and revenue account substitute and assistant for a period of three years.
