His Excellency the President of Jazan University, Prof. Mar’ei bin Hussein Al-Qahtani, emphasized that data has a crucial role in supporting the organisation, decision-making, and building development policies and strategic initiatives, noting that data effectively contributes to improving and enhancing initiatives to build a knowledge-based society.

This came during his sponsorship of the Forum, which was organized by the Deanship of Academic Development, entitled: The Role of Data in Supporting Decision-Making, this morning at the Colleges of Arts and Applied Sciences auditorium, in the presence of the CEO of King Abdulaziz Quality Award, Dr. Ahmed Bader, and university vice presidents, deans of deanships and deans of colleges.

The Dean of Academic Development, Dr. Ali Hindi, explained that the forum aims to spread distinguished practices by reviewing a number of pioneering experiences in the academic accreditation processes. It also seeks to reveal the best practices in the teaching and learning processes and enhance the concept of the role of data in supporting decision-making

The coordinator of the forum, the Vice Dean of Academic Development for the Female Section, Ms. Maysoon Shateffi, indicated in her introductory speech that the forum is conducted as part of the university’s policy to activate an internal system for quality in all its faculties and academic and administrative units and to achieve competitiveness and excellence.

The forum discussed a number of themes that were presented as working papers that touched on various topics, including statistical reading of university registration data, imaging and representation of academic data, identifying the correct ways to access data with high quality, and contributing to raising the level of data quality, stressing that the forum seeks to come up with a vision.
