More than 9,604 citizens and residents benefited from the curative medical services provided by the College of Dentistry at Jazan University for diseases and problems of the mouth and teeth within 8 weeks, starting from the current year 1443 AH till date.

The Dean of the College of Dentistry at Jazan University, Dr. Haitham Fakih, explained that the college has provided integrated treatment services through its clinics to 9,604 referred citizens and residents since the beginning of the current year 1443 AH.

Different specialties

Dr. Fakih indicated that the specialties in the clinics of the College of Dentistry are diverse and include oral and maxillofacial surgery, diagnostic sciences in dentistry, to diagnose and treat various oral lesions and diseases, preventive dental services represented by pediatric dentistry, orthodontics, treatment of gums and tissues surrounding the teeth, conservative treatment, such as preventive dental fillings, Dental pulp and root canals treatment, fixed and removable prosthodontics, and dental implants.

Treatment plan

The clinics create an electronic file for each patient, then the references go to the diagnostic clinics to do the necessary tests through clinical examination and radiography to determine the patient’s need and make a comprehensive treatment plan that includes transferring him to the specialized department, and about the procedures for emergency cases. Dr. Fakih stated that emergency treatment is provided directly by doctors, and then emergency cases are transferred to complete treatment in the specialized department within the clinics.

Beneficiaries' satisfaction

The beneficiaries’ satisfaction with the provided treatment services is measured by means of a questionnaire given to them after receiving treatment in the clinics, and through the results it was found that the level of satisfaction in general is between 4.5 out of 5, which indicates a very high level of satisfaction from the beneficiaries on all the treatment services provided to them in the college clinics.
