Jazan University: Media Department

The Department of Diagnostic Radiology at the College of Applied Medical Sciences concluded the October campaign for early detection of breast cancer in cooperation with the Ihsan Medical Association and Prince Muhammad bin Nasser Hospital, which was organized by the department as a community initiative.

The department held a number of events in support of the campaign, as it began with an educational seminar via the Zoom platform, in which Dr. Nasser Shubeir, Head of the Diagnostic Radiology Department, participated in the presence of the Dean of the College of Applied Medical Sciences, Dr. Ayman bin Muhammad Madkhali, and the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, pointing out the importance of this initiative. The campaign also organized an awareness lecture given by Dr. Nada Al-Amiri on the importance of early detection, the high number of infections, the target group, symptoms and treatment, and the number of attendees in all events reached more than 300 from all spectrums of society.

The campaign also included carrying out breast imaging examinations and visit of the campuses under the auspices of the Vice President for Academic Affairs (Female Section), Dr. Fatima bint Abdulaziz Aqeeli, throughout the month of October, in the following colleges: the Women’s Colleges Complex in Mahliya, the College of Dentistry, female section, the University College in Sabya, the University College in Abu Arish, The University College in Al-Ardah, the University College in Samtah, and finally in the medical complex of the College of Applied Medical Sciences in the female section. A booth with awareness publications was organized and a voluntary examination was conducted with the specialist Ms. Alaa Dabash in Building No. 5 using the Mammogram machine, and the number of applicants for examination was 30 female students and administrators in the college.​
