His Excellency Jazan University President, Prof. Mar’ei bin Hussein Al-Qahtani, valued the support of the wise leadership for Jazan University by creating 409 academic jobs. He stated the support that the university enjoys has made possible the successive achievements in building human resources, serving the community and developing the place within a short period of time. His Excellency also valued the efforts of its employees and their dedication towards achieving a safe return to regular studies with the start of the new academic year.

This came while His Excellency chaired today the University Council in its first session for the academic year 1443 AH, in the presence of the Secretary-General for Universities Council Affairs, Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulaziz Al-Saleh, the University’s Vice Presidents, deans and vice deans of faculties and supporting deanships.

The Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Secretary of the University Council, Prof. Dr. Muhammad bin Hassan Abu Raasin, stated that the Council agreed to send, continue and transfer the scholarships of (60) teaching assistants and lecturers, both male and female to obtain master’s and doctoral degrees in various disciplines, and recommended the approval of the university’s draft budget for the financial year 2022, approving the establishment of the Jazan University Training Academy, linked to the Institute of Research and Consulting Services, and recommending approval of the amendment of the name of the Deanship of Academic Development to the Deanship of Institutional Excellence, approving the formation of the Audit Committee to follow up on the work of external auditors and supervising internal audit work, approving the formation of an Investment Committee to supervise the university’s investments, recommend the establishment of the Saudi Society for the Prevention of Psychotropic Substances in the College of Medicine, and approve the executive and procedural rules for attending conferences, seminars and the like for faculty members.
