Jazan University supports the Kingdom’s efforts in combatting drug abuse

Supervisor of Psychotropic Substances and Toxicology Research Center at Jazan University, Dr. Hassan Al-Hazmi, discussed the tasks related to supporting national efforts to combat drug abuse.

This came during his meeting with the Director of Studies and Information at the National Committee for Narcotics Control, Dr. Suleiman Muhammad Al-Luhaidan, and the representative of the Authority for the Development and Reconstruction of Mountainous Areas in Jazan, Mr. Saad Al-Abdulaziz.

During the meeting, Dr. Al-Hazmi reviewed the achievements of the Research Center and its community services that it has achieved since its inauguration, stressing that Jazan University welcomes participation in conducting surveys, preventive, interventional, biological and chemical research related to psychotropic substances.

Dr. Al-Hazmi pointed out that the Psychotropic and Toxicology Research Center is one of the first centers established in the Kingdom, and aims to educate society and youth about the scourge of drugs to reduce its psychological and social effects, and research is conducted to find solutions to the issues that plague the region and the Kingdom in general.

For his part, Dr. Al-Luhaidan praised the research efforts made by the center and the university, as it is an important database to support the country’s efforts in combating drugs.
