His Excellency the Jazan University President, Prof. Dr. Mar’ei bin Hussein Al-Qahtani, stressed the importance of spreading the culture of entrepreneurship among University students and encouraging them to come up with entrepreneurial ideas that are based on creativity and innovation. This came during the inauguration of the Global Entrepreneurship Week 2020 activities at the College of Computer Science and Information Technology auditorium this morning in the presence of Vice Presidents of the University, Deans of colleges and Deanships, and a number of University students.

The Supervisor of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Nayef Madhkour, explained that the University is organizing a number of programs and courses this week under the slogan “Towards an Entrepreneurial University”.           Dr. Madhkour pointed out the importance of helping University students and graduates to discover their entrepreneurial capabilities through various activities and events, and to identify promising technical opportunities and potential projects that could be successful in establishing emerging companies with high economic feasibility and a distinct proposed value.

While the Director General of the General Administration for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the Ministry of Education, Prof. Dr. Ahmed bin AbdulRahman Al-Shamaimari, spoke about the financial and human resources and capabilities of Jazan University that are appreciated by all. He stressed that officials of the Ministry of Education are following with admiration the University’s efforts to encourage the youth in entrepreneurship by presenting opportunities and harnessing their potential in through innovation and leadership. This would contribute towards raising the performance standards of its students and employees.

The CEO of the Global Entrepreneurship Network in Saudi Arabia, Ms. Amal Dukhan, stressed the importance of educational institutions’ support for these events to create an appropriate environment for exchanging ideas and experiences that would help young student entrepreneurs to complete all formalities necessary to launch their entrepreneurial project.

At the end of the ceremony, His Excellency the President of the University honored the participants of the Global Entrepreneurship Week from inside and outside the University.
