Jazan University, represented by the Community Service Unit at the Faculty of Medicine, in cooperation with the Committee for Mental Health Promotion, organized the virtual awareness forum, “How to deal with hyperactive children”. The faculty members at the Faculty of Medicine participated in the forum, with more than 1,133 attendees from various regions of the Kingdom.

The forum discussed many important topics about hyperactivity disorders. Dr. Rashad Al-Sanousi, a faculty member of the College of Medicine, talked about the symptoms of hyperactivity and the diagnosis of ADHD.

The head of the paediatrics department, Dr. Qassem Qahl, explained the biological and medical aspects of the problem, and Dr. Musa Al Za’ala concluded the topics of the forum speaking about psychological, family and educational treatment for children with ADHD and ways to deal with them. It was mentioned at the forum that this health problem whose prevalence in society reaches 3-5% of children, has many psychological and educational implications for children.

The forum was attended by parents, teachers, counselors and professionals working in the field of mental health, and the attendees were satisfied with the presented content.
