Jazan University celebrates its Shoura Council members
Jazan University celebrated the appointment of faculty members to the Shoura Council, in the presence of His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Mar’ei bin Hussein Al-Qahtani, members of the University Council and the directors of education in the region, this evening at the Girls College Complex at Mahilya.
His Excellency Dr. Al-Qahtani explained that the University celebrates the selection of the elite group of faculty members who have won the royal trust by being members of the Shoura Council. He stressed that this selection reflects the wise leadership’s keenness to benefit from the competent young leaders who are qualified to contribute to the process of development, construction and modernization in various sectors.
Dr. Al-Qahtani congratulated Dr. Hassan Hijab Al-Hazmi, Dr. Asim Muhammad Madkhali, Dr. Faisal Ali Tomaihi, Dr. Aisha Hassan Zikri, and Dr. Aisha Ali Arishi and thanked them for all their efforts during the past years, and that the University appreciates their service and the contribution towards its development.
The member of the Shoura Council, Prof. Dr. Aisha bint Hassan Zikri, gave a speech on behalf of all the appointed members in which she appreciated the generous trust of the rulers- may God preserve them. She mentioned that it is a great responsibility to serve the nation and we hope to exert our efforts and perform the tasks and duties with dedication in order to achieve the aspirations and ambitious Vision 2030 of the homeland.
The celebration also included a poem recited by Dr. Naief Azyabi, Vice President of the University for Development and Entrepreneurship.
At the end of the event, members of the Shoura Council, accompanied by His Excellency the President of the University, toured the Girls’ Colleges Complex at Mahilya, which accommodates 15,000 students, and includes 4 colleges, namely the Faculty of Science, the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, the Faculty of Design and Architecture, the Joint Health program, in addition to 12 departments, 5 Supporting Deanships, a Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and the English Language Institute. It has 184 classrooms, 83 laboratories, and 20 halls for training and holding workshops.
