Continuing scholarships for 76 teaching assistants and lecturers The Jazan University Council commends efforts of Ministry of Education in resuming distance education

The Jazan University Council expressed its admiration for the great efforts made by the Ministry of Education to resume the new academic year remotely. His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Mar’ei bin Hussein Al-Qahtani, said that we are proud of our country and its leadership that made the citizens’ safety and health the priority, and the decision to resume online studies came in compliance with the aspirations of the wise leadership. With the achievement of educational quality, His Excellency noted the efforts made by the Ministry of Education and its harnessing of all resources and capabilities, with close follow-up from His Excellency the Minister of Education, Dr. Hammad Al-Sheikh. Dr. Al-Qahtani stressed the importance of family and parents’ participation in supporting the continuation of the educational process and following up the online mode of teaching with their children.

This came during the meeting of the University Council in its first session for the academic year 1442 AH “remotely” today, Tuesday, under the chairmanship of His Excellency the President of the University, Dr. Mar’ei Al-Qahtani, and with the participation of Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulaziz Al-Saleh, Secretary-General of the Interim Committee in charge of the work of the Higher Education Council, University Vice Presidents, male and female Deans of colleges and supporting deanships.

While the Secretary of the University Council, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Muhammad bin Hassan Abu Rasin, explained that the council took a number of decisions, including: Approval of the scholarships of (76) male and female teaching assistants and lecturers to obtain master’s and doctoral degrees in various specializations, the granting of master’s degrees to 7 male and female students, agreeing to approve the procedural guide for constructing and evaluating learning outcomes, agreeing to the adoption of financial regulatory rules and procedures for graduate studies programs at the university, and approving the admission and registration plan to rebalance the admission and absorption work at the university with an annual benchmark, and reformulating The Council of the Deanship of Scientific Research for a period of two years, approval of research and academic subjects for some members of the faculty (Scientific Council – secondment), and the delegation of His Excellency the President of the University the powers of the University Council in relation to some subjects.
