Jazan University President inaugurates the 24th meeting of presidents and directors of universities and higher education institutions in the GCC countries
His Excellency the President of Jazan University, Prof. Mar’ei bin Hussein Al-Qahtani, inaugurated the 24th preparatory meeting for the representatives of universities and higher education institutions in the countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf. This was held in the conference hall of the Grand Millennium Hotel Jazan in the University City.
His Excellency the President of Jazan University welcomed the representatives while appreciating their participation in the preparatory meeting. He stressed on the importance of coming up with recommendations to achieve integration and cooperation and to overcome challenges to prepare the citizens of the future.
While the Vice President of Jazan University, Prof. Dr. Muhammad bin Ali Ma’ashi, chaired the preparatory meeting in the presence of the representatives, during which a number of topics on the agenda were reviewed and discussed, most notably the discussion of the final statement of the decisions of the Supreme Council and the announcement of Al-Ula for the forty-first session of the Council.
The meeting also discussed the decisions of the GCC Ministers of Higher Education and Scientific Research Committee, international cooperation, ways to confront the emerging crisis of the Coronavirus pandemic, and the efforts of the GCC countries in the field of education.
The attendees also discussed about “Jisr”, the electronic communication platform, joint work committees, the prize of the Committee of Presidents and Directors of Universities and Higher Education Institutions in the GCC States, and the eleventh symposium of the Committee of Presidents and Directors of Universities and Higher Education Institutions in the GCC States.
The University Vice Presidents toured the accompanying exhibition prepared by the university students, where the guests listened to a brief explanation of the contents of the exhibition, which included a presentation of the most important initiatives and achievements made by the university in various fields. The guests expressed their admiration for the various achievements they were apprised of in the various academic and research areas and community development. At the end of the tour, they took souvenir photos to mark the event.
