His Excellency the President of Jazan University, Prof. Mar’ei bin Hussein Al-Qahtani, greeted the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz AlSaud, and His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense – may God preserve them – and the Saudi people on the occasion of the blessed month of Ramadan, and asked God for security and stability for the homeland.

This came during the Jazan University Council meeting at its eighth session for the academic year 1442 AH this Monday morning, through visual communication technology, in the presence of Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulaziz Al-Saleh, Secretary-General of University Council Affairs and members of the University Council.

The Vice-President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Secretary of the Council, Prof. Dr. Muhammad bin Hassan Abu Rasin, explained that the council took a set of decisions that included appointment of 17 Saudi faculty members to the rank of Assistant Professor and Lecturer, scholarship and extension of 24 teaching assistants and lecturers, approval of the establishment of the Intellectual Awareness unit at the university, approval of the executive rules for scientific communication, the executive rules for scientific dedication, the conditions and controls for establishing a branch of a Saudi scientific society at the University, the rules for appointing (promoting) an instructor to the rank of lecturer, approval of the proposal to accept students of internal and external scholarships for the academic year 1443 AH at the university, the numbers of proposed admission for the academic year 1443 AH, the University calendar for the academic year 1443 AH, the amendment of some items of the academic calendar for the academic year 1442 AH, and the university calendar amended for the summer semester for the academic year 1442 AH. Dr. Abu Rasin added that the council recommended the creation of a number of programs at the Deanship of Community Service and Continuing Education, which are:(Entrepreneurship – Small Enterprise Management – Philanthropy Department – Social Responsibility), in addition to approving the plan of the Deanship of Community Service and Continuing Education with regard to admission criteria, suggested intake and tuition fees for the academic year 1443 AH.
