| About the Department

The Intellectual Awareness Unit was established at Jazan University on 05/26/1437 AH as per the decision of His Excellency the President of the University decision No. (41574) dated 05/26/1437 AH.

Vision of Unit

An educational environment free from extremism and deviant thought.

Mission of Unit

The unit provides awareness and educational programs based on moderate beliefs that promote national belonging and rejects extremism and deviant thoughts in the University and society.

Tasks of Unit

The unit seeks to implement the objectives that were set for it, namely:
1. Strengthening loyalty to religion and then to the rulers, and strengthening the sense of belonging to the homeland and national cohesion.
2. Spreading the culture of moderation and the values of tolerance and coexistence.
3. Preventing extremist ideology and dealing with its effects.
4. Monitoring violations and extremist intellectual and behavior.
5. Encouraging scientific and research initiatives on intellectual issues.
6. Identifying and addressing the negative phenomena that call for imbalance and deviating from community values.
