External Advisory Board (EAB)
It is a consultant committee formed by academic staff and leading practitioners from the relevant profession to monitor and advise on the content and quality of the mechanical engineering program.
Rules of EAB
- Provide an independent source of information and advice to the department authorities regarding the strategic issues confronting the quality of education.
- The external advisory board is not a decision-making forum. EAB will determine the roles and responsibilities to best suit the particular circumstances and needs of the department.
- Develop an understanding of the industry trends and relevant academic policies.
- Provide “wise counsel” on issues raised by the stakeholders
- Encourage and support the exploration of new academic and research ideas
- To become a learning forum and act as a resource for the academia
Responsibilities of EAB
- Encourage the development of a governance and quality framework that enables continued growth, whilst not shifting the spirit or vision of the college and the university.
- Review the mission, Program Educational Objectives, and Student Learning Outcomes, Closing Looping Outcomes of the program.
- Review the progress towards accreditation and achievements of Program educational objectives.
- Monitor academic performance and challenges and consider options for
improving the quality of education.- Suggest improvements in the curriculum to suit the current job market for the program graduates.
