ACADEMIC PROJECTS

• Knowledge in the field of composite and nanocomposite materials using clay, fiber, sago starch, activated carbon, carbon nanotubes, and other polymers designed for special applications such as immobilization of Chitosan.
• Preparation and characterization of membranes for hydrogen fuel cell application.
• Synthesis and characterization of a biodegradable environmental-friendly polymer using enzymatic degradation, acid hydrolysis, and determination of the average molecular weight by using viscosity measurement.
• Considerable experience theoretical and practical in the field of polymer chemistry, synthesis, chemical analysis, polymer technology, design, and preparation of polymers for certain applications. Knowledge of using initiators, monomers, and different types of polymerization reactions especially free radical polymerization reaction by chemical initiation, gamma rays, and electron beam, including various types of organic polymers.
• Developing an efficient technology for treating surface water and conditioning of wastewater sludge by using a cheap, natural available biopolymer such as Sago Starch, Chitosan, Moringa Oleifera seeds, Inorganic coagulants such as Alum and Ferric Chloride. These researches were concentrated on the quality of the effluent in terms of its meeting discharge requirements by the Department of Environment (DOE).
• Project management planning, operation, and maintenance of wastewater pilot treatment plant using different types of membranes, monitoring and evaluation of industrial and scientific research, product development and designing strategy, implementation of research findings.
