Welcome to the College of Pharmacy website at Jazan University.
The College of Pharmacy seeks to provide distinguished pharmaceutical education to prepare qualified pharmacists to participate in the labor market and improve health services provided to patients and the community.
In recent decades, healthcare has evolved in various fields, necessitating the development of healthcare professions, including pharmacy. This has evolved significantly, and pharmacists now play a role in various fields and branches of pharmacy, such as providing direct care to patients in hospitals and working in community pharmacies, pharmaceutical factories, poison centers, drug marketing companies, research centers, and more.
The decision to nationalize the pharmacy profession to 30% on 1/12/1442 AH (12/1/2019) has also increased the rate of pharmacist employment in various fields and highlighted the importance of the pharmacist's role in pharmaceutical companies and community pharmacies.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the important role of pharmacists in outpatient pharmacies has also emerged. This was achieved after pharmacists working in this field were trained and allowed to administer COVID-19 vaccines. These pharmacies have expanded to various cities and neighborhoods, contributing to improved access to health services across the region. This is one of the goals of the Health Sector Transformation Program, one of the new programs of Vision 2030.
In conclusion, the rapid change in the role of pharmacists in healthcare requires a periodic review and update of all pharmacy plans and programs in the Kingdom's colleges. This is what the College of Pharmacy at Jazan University is doing to contribute to building an integrated health system in this generous nation, under the guidance and support of the rulers, may God protect them.
