His Excellency the President of Jazan University, Prof. Mar’ei bin Hussein Al-Qahtani, affirmed that reaching out to the University students by providing services, online education and introducing him to the University’s systems is a duty that we are honoured to perform. There is no room for negligence in performing those tasks and responsibilities and communication is key to solving their problems, and he also stressed the importance of adhering to the precautionary measures imposed by the Corona pandemic, to maintain the safety and health of University students and its employees.

This came during the launch by His Excellency the online platform for the introductory week for freshmen, for the academic year 1442 AH. Also present at the launch were the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Hassan bin Abdullah Ishaq, the Dean of Admission and Registration, Dr. Ahmed Faqihi, the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Othman Hakami, the Dean of E-Learning and Information Technology, Dr. Ibrahim Ghashim, the Dean of Library Affairs Dr. Eissa Qohal, and the Supervisor of the General Administration of Public Relations and Media, Mr. Musa Muharraq.

The Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Hassan bin Abdullah Ishaq, explained the importance of the orientation week in supporting the future of newly enrolled students in the University, through the online platform provided by the Deanship of Student Affairs for the activities of the Advisory week in cooperation with a number of supporting deanships.

His Excellency listened to a detailed explanation from the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Othman Hakami about the online platform services provided by the Deanship of Student Affairs, such as cultural and sports programs and activities, student clubs, the clarification of important information related to the learning management system “Blackboard” and the book borrowing system provided by the Libraries. Dr. AlHakami also reviewed the advantages of the platform, which provides many guidelines, student regulations and systems at the undergraduate level.

Dr. AlHakami extended his thanks and appreciation to the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Mar’ei bin Hussein Al-Qahtani, the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Hassan bin Abdullah Ishaq, for the unlimited support that the University students receive for all programs and meetings that concern university students in various fields.

The online platform provides freshmen with important information through which they can learn about the services provided to them during their studies, their rights and duties, and establish various activities that help them to attend lectures from the first day of the university year, in addition to having technical support and contact numbers to answer their inquiries.
