Faculty of Pharmacy at Jazan University organizes Career and Scientific Research Day 2022

The College of Pharmacy at Jazan University organized the activities of the Career and Scientific Research Day 2022, in the presence of His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Mar’ei bin Hussein Al-Qahtani, the university’s vice presidents and the faculty’s employees, this morning at the College of Computer Science and Information Technology auditorium, and in the presence of a number of college students.
The Dean of the College, Dr. Abdul Karim Mar’ei, explained that this event witnessed the participation of experts from various agencies and private sectors from across the Kingdom, in order to familiarize the graduates of the College of Pharmacy with the requirements of the labor market and the career opportunities available to them in the future. He informed that the event highlights the graduation projects, scientific posters and research achievements of the college students at both local and regional level, and honor the top performers.
Dr. Mar’ei confirmed that the jobs of pharmacy graduates have expanded significantly today through pharmaceutical companies and community pharmacies, transcending its role previously limited to hospitals only, noting that the event witnessed the graduation of the first batch of the master’s degree in applied toxicology, and the event witnessed the signing of memoranda of cooperation with number of training and employment agencies.
Dr. Mar’ei said stated that about 100 students participated from the Doctor of Pharmacist program and 6 from the master's program, while the number of research submitted was 27 scientific papers, and the research fields varied between pharmacy practices, pharmaceutical sciences and toxicology, in addition to research related to the Corona virus.
During the event, two scientific sessions were held. The first dealt with work in hospitals and the path to residency programs, in which Dr. Mujibur Rahman Mazkour, Dr. Hanan Ahmed Bakri and Dr. Hatem Ali Helwi participated. The second session was titled Work in the private sector and community pharmacies, in which pharmacist Ahmed Al-Bahari from Xantia Company and pharmacist Mohamed Al-Hazmi from the Medicine House Company participated.
