Jazan University and Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property sign a cooperation agreement

Jazan University and the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property had a virtual meeting this morning, and a joint cooperation agreement was signed. It is aimed at benefiting from the services of the national network to support intellectual property through the University’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center. Also the objective is to stimulate innovation and entrepreneurship in the University community and raise the efficiency of intellectual property management, enhance it and benefit from it.

The University was represented at the signing ceremony by the University’s Vice President for Development and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Naief Azyabi, while the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property was represented by the Executive Vice President for Intellectual Property Policies and Partnerships, Engineer Sami Al-Sudais.

Dr. Naief Azyabi affirmed that Jazan University is working to promote and spread the culture of intellectual property and facilitate patent registration by signing the agreement to make the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Jazan University the first center to join intellectual property support centers in the southern region.

For his part, Eng. Sami Al-Sudais welcomed Jazan University’s accession to the national network to support intellectual property, stressing the importance of the national economic impact of intellectual property by supporting and enabling innovation, creativity and the economy based on awareness of national legislations and regulations related to enforcement and protection of the intellectual property rights of the entity, its employees and clients, and avoiding unintended infringements on the intellectual property rights of others.
