Inauguration of the cyber security center at Jazan University
His Excellency the President of Jazan University, Prof. Dr. Mar’ei bin Hussein Al-Qahtani, inaugurated the Cybersecurity Center of the Deanship of E-Learning and Information Technology at the Deanship’s headquarters. It is located at the University’s administrative tower, and the University’s Vice Presidents were also present at the inauguration.
His Excellency the University President explained that the establishment of the Cybersecurity Center coincides with the great digital transformations taking place at Jazan University, and in response to the increasing importance of enforcing cybersecurity protocols achieve the highest standards of international security and reliability. He added that the center aims to provide a safe digital environment, in addition to continuous monitoring of cyber threats 24X7, to immediately deal with the attacks, as well as secure the University’s systems.
His Excellency indicated that the Kingdom has recently achieved advanced ranks globally in the field of cybersecurity and in the field of infrastructure, which reflects the interest of our wise leadership in supporting and strengthening this field with the latest technologies and qualified citizens.
The Dean of E-Learning and Information Technology, Dr. Ibrahim Ghashim, explained that the Information Security Center ensures that potential cyber incidents are accurately identified, analyzed, guarded against, investigated and announced, adding that the center seeks to achieve and implement the standards of the National Cyber Security Authority, indicating that it will contribute to solving the most complex cyber problems by using Intelligent and global cyber analysis platforms led by Saudi competencies. He indicated that the center contributes to fortifying and protecting communication networks and technical systems in the various sectors of the University to ensure their continuity and non-disruption.
