In half a month, more than 37,000 lectures conducted at Jazan University since the resumption of studies

More than 46 thousand students at Jazan University completed their second study week “remotely” after resuming studies through advanced academic and online services provided by the University. About 2,694 faculty members are teaching 2,233 courses to more than 46,418 male and female students during the current semester.

His Excellency the President of Jazan University, Prof. Mar’ei bin Hussein Al-Qahtani, said that the University, in light of the support it receives from the wise leadership, continues to provide and harness all its capabilities and academic services through an advanced educational system with a commitment to carry out all safety measures due to the coronavirus pandemic. The President noted the follow-up of His Excellency the Minister of Education Dr. Hammad Al-Sheikh that enhances the University’s performance and development. He added that the University students are distinguished in their passion for learning and creativity and their insistence on overcoming challenges posed by the Corona pandemic is a source of pride for us. He also thanked the parents and stated that they are the University’s partners in making this remote learning session a success.

While the Dean of E-Learning and Information Technology, Dr. Ibrahim Ghashim, explained that the University has vast experience in the field of E-learning, which makes it a pioneer in this mode of study. He added that the preparations for the resumption of remote study for this semester were done early, in addition to the Deanship launching an initiative to develop the capabilities of its employees and e-learning skills several training programs have been launched.

Dr. Ibrahim Ghashim pointed out that the statistics recorded for these 15 days, since the resumption of studies was excellent as the number of lectures presented reached 37,567, with than 89 thousand hours of teaching, while the number of discussion boards reached 10,321, and the number of files reviewed was 871,747.
