With 220 rooms and 600 beds ... Jazan University hands over the "Healthcare" building for quarantine

Jazan University handed over the student residence building No. 2 to the District Health Affairs Directorate to be used to isolate suspected and infected cases of Coronavirus.

The Vice President for Development and Entrepreneurship, Chairman of the University's permanent emergency committee, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Al-Saffhi, explained that the university started from early on preparing the student housing building No. 2 to be used for quarantine purpose to isolate infected and suspected cases on the directives of His Excellency the Minister of Education, Dr. Hammad Al-Sheikh. And with the follow-up of His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Mar'ei Al-Qahtani, all these initiatives are to harness its human potential and facilities to achieve health security in the region, within the integration of efforts between the ministries of education and health, and in support of the measures taken by the government to confront the Coronavirus pandemic.

Al-Safhi indicated that the student housing building for isolation consists of 5 floors and includes 220 rooms with a capacity of 660 beds, explaining that the rooms are equipped with all equipment and services, and the building also includes a clinic for health examination, and an administrative office, noting the efforts made by all deanships, medical colleges, departments concerned with the university and teams over the past months to implement the university's emergency plan to confront the Coronavirus, which was approved by His Excellency the President of the University.

It is noteworthy that Jazan University has announced the preparation of a medical center to confront Coronavirus with a capacity of 220 beds, and it will be available in coordination with Jizan Health and its plans to address the Coronavirus, and in a manner that enhances the integration of government efforts and roles.
