His Excellency the President of Jazan University, Prof. Dr. Mar’ei bin Hussein Al-Qahtani, inaugurated the Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign under the slogan “For a Safe Journey get yourself checked now” which was set up by the General Administration of Medical Services and Operation of the University Hospital in conjunction with the national campaign “Early detection of breast cancer”, which will continue until the end of October.

His Excellency the President of the University was briefed on the services provided by the University Hospital to serve the employees who wish to be reassured and to conduct early examinations in the breast examination clinic, the breast cancer consultation clinic, the health education clinic and therapeutic nutrition and their role in preventing breast cancer, in addition to the awareness content of the campaign through distance education platforms at the university.

The Supervisor of the General Administration of Medical Services and University Hospital Operation, Dr. Madani Al-Issa, explained that the initiation of the educational and health programs is one of the important goals through which the administration seeks to spread health awareness culture and provide distinct health services, stressing that medical examinations and early detection would eliminate many fears and reassure the community.

Dr. Al-Issa stressed that the university receives all women in the community who want to conduct early examinations through the appointment system, and provide them with medical examinations as well as health education in an optimal manner to enhance their general health. In addition, the campaign also targets female employees and students to educate them about the latest methods in early detection and the role of genetic factors in causing breast cancer, and how early detection impacts high survival rate and it can be cured, God willing.
