Jazan University obligated all its employees and students to reduce the energy consumption in all educational and residential facilities, by closing all electrical devices when not in use.

His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Mar’ei bin Hussein Al-Qahtani, directed the power supply department employees at the University to continuously follow-up and submit statistical and periodic reports on electricity consumption in cooperation with the Energy Efficiency Center, in implementation of the highest orders in this regard.

For his part, the Supervisor of the General Administration of Public Relations and Media, Mr. Musa bin Yahya Muharraq, explained that during the previous years, many awareness and instructional publications were broadcast for energy conservation. He added that cooperation with the Energy Efficiency Center is ongoing through publishing statistics, numbers and awareness messages related to improving saving of energy.

Muharraq indicated that during the current year 1442 AH, the media department at the university prepared a timetable and a plan that includes making use of the university’s technical means to implement the decision of the President to preserve and save energy.
