The Vice President for Academic Affairs inaugurates the “Bader” exhibition
The Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Hassan bin Abdullah Ishaq, inaugurated the “Bader” exhibition at the Kadi Mall Commercial Complex in Jazan, which was organized by the College of Medicine represented by the Department of Family and Community Medicine in collaboration with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties in Jazan to educate the community about the importance of taking Coronavirus vaccines.
Dr. Hassan Ishaq confirmed that the Bader exhibition, which is concerned with spreading awareness about the Coronavirus vaccines and clearing the misconceptions, praised the College of Medicine for the awareness campaign. He also commended the great and distinguished role that students of health colleges at the university play in providing assistance and support to confront the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic through their volunteer services at the COVID-19 Vaccination Center and many other initiatives.
While the Dean of the College of Medicine, Dr. Anwar Makin confirmed that the campaign launched by His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Mar’ei bin Hussein Al-Qahtani, last week, aims to reach herd immunity against the Coronavirus by increasing community awareness about vaccinations and tackle the misinformation through evidence and scientific studies.
He added that medical students in student clubs have been appreciated for their efforts in this exhibition, as they responded to questions and inquiries related to vaccines, pointing out that the campaign consists of four tracks: community participation, awareness and education, awareness ambassador, questions and inquiries.
While the Head of the Department of Family and Community Medicine, Dr. Ahmed Al-Qassem stressed the importance of establishing such community initiatives aimed at spreading a culture of awareness among members of society and praised the role of the trainees of the preventive medicine program in Jazan and the students of Jazan University who contributed greatly to the success of this campaign.
