Jazan University: Media Department 

His Excellency the President of Jazan University, Prof. Dr. Mar’ei bin Hussein Al-Qahtani, stressed the importance of the role played by the Deanships of Student Affairs in the universities of the Kingdom. He pointed out the need for the deanships to pay more attention to implementing preventive programs to protect University students from the dangers of intellectual extremism and immunity from what is broadcast through global means of communication that shake the confidence of youth in their countries and societies. His Excellency reiterated the importance of periodic meetings in consolidating relations between Saudi universities, exchanging experiences and discussing everything that concerns them in the aspect of student affairs in order to draw qualitative plans and goals for advanced educational programs that will have a positive impact on Saudi university students.

This came during the inauguration of the twenty-second meeting of the Deans of Student Affairs in Saudi Universities Committee, hosted by Jazan University, at the Grand Millennium Hotel in the University City.

The Dean of Student Affairs at Jazan University, Dr. Yahya bin Ali Faqihi, stated that the meeting of the deans of student affairs reviewed the rich experiences of a number of universities in various fields of student affairs. Joint cooperation between Saudi universities and follow-up on what is being done in this regard was also stressed upon. Dr. Faqihi expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Excellency the President of Jazan University for his support in hosting the meeting, and the proposals and directives included in his opening speech to develop the services and initiatives provided by the Deanships of Student Affairs to students.
