The Dean of the College of Medicine and Executive Director of Jazan University Hospital, Dr. Anwar Makin, participated in the "International Standards for Drug Prevention" activities organized by the Secretariat of the National Committee for Drug Control and the National Project "Nebras" in cooperation with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime. The workshop was conducted for two days in Riyadh.

Dr. Anwar Makin, during the participation in the training workshop presented by the Director of the Global Prevention Program at the United Nations Office, referred to a statistic indicating that 90% of studies proved that abuse begins before the age of 18, which confirms that families are the main factor that can promote or limit the abuse. He pointed out that 90% of the awareness programs are directed at schools, and there is a great shortage of programs targeting the family.
