Jazan University launches 21 vital projects in its university campuses

Jazan University continues its race in the field of building and developing its university projects that establishes its identity and future vision and its pioneering role in improving the outcomes. The plans are in motion to swiftly complete its vital projects and keep pace with the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
How was Jazan University able to accomplish its important projects, which are a fundamental pillar of its university system?
His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Mar’ei bin Hussein Al-Qahtani, answered this question in a previous interview, stated that Jazan University has succeeded in finding a plan to implement its projects by collecting all costs and liquidity for the implementation of projects. Transfers of items are made and allocated to one project, provided that it is completed and delivered within a year. During five years, more than 13 colleges were transferred to the University City, and a female student’s complex was completed at Mahliya and a number of colleges were transferred to it. The girl’s complex was completed in Jizan, and a number of university projects were completed in the governorates, and a transformation was made from zero to 100% for administrative buildings, and from 19% to more than 80% for academic buildings.
Technical acceleration
And based on the university’s keeping pace with the rapid technical development and in line with Vision 2030 in achieving the effective e-government index, many digital projects have been implemented, including equipping all buildings with the latest digital equipment and administrative and educational systems linked to the fiber optic network of the Internet.
A data center equipped with the latest technologies has been established that ensures the university employees get the top speed in transferring operations and data, relying on national competencies in operation, management and development.
Vital projects
The projects to be inaugurated included 21 of the university's vital projects, namely: The Administrative Tower: It consists of 18 floors and provides 389 administrative offices. It also includes the offices of the university presidency and its vice presidencies, and 40 headquarters of the university's general administrations and its supporting deanships.
University Hospital: Inaugurating the first and second phases with a capacity of 300 beds. Housing for university employees: with a total of 148 villas. Student housing in its first and second phases: provides 380 rooms and accommodates more than 2,280 students. College of Applied Medical Sciences: an investment of vacant spaces in the building and implementation of spending efficiency, another college was housed and transferred to the building, which provides 49 classrooms and 55 laboratories. College of Computer Science and Information Technology: In order to invest the vacant spaces in the building and in order to implement spending efficiency, another college was housed and moved to the building, as the building provides 53 classrooms and 49 laboratories. College of Public Health and Regional Medicine Al-Hara: In order to invest the vacant spaces in the building and to implement the efficiency of spending, another college was housed and transferred to the building in addition to a research center. The building provides 35 classrooms and 35 laboratories. The Female academic complex at Mahliya is considered the jewel of the Jazan University projects, as it includes five colleges for girls: the College of Design and Architecture, the College of Science, the College of Engineering, the College of Computer Science and Information Technology, the Health Courses Department, the University Vice Presidency for Student Affairs (Female), and five supporting deanships. 12 departments, an English language institute with 184 classrooms, 83 laboratories, 20 training and workshop halls, a theater that can accommodate 450 people, and the University College in Abu Arish. The project includes 20 classrooms and 20 laboratories. The University College in Sabya provides 31 classrooms and 50 laboratories, the classrooms of the Faculty of Sharia and Law in Abu Arish, which provide 44 classrooms, the educational museum building in Abu Arish, which includes two multi-purpose halls, in addition to the University’s power station, the university’s water desalination plant, the water lake, the marine dams, and the water canals.
