The American ABET Organization grants accreditation to 6 academic programs at Jazan University

In a new accomplishment added to the list of achievements of Jazan University, and coinciding with the start of the new academic year, the American accreditation organization ABET has approved 6 academic programs at the university. They are 4 academic programs for the undergraduate stage in the College of Engineering, and two diploma programs at the College of Industrial Applications in Baish.

The approved programs include Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering programs at the College of Engineering, the Mechanical Maintenance Engineering Technology Program, and the Electrical Power Engineering Program at the College of Industrial Applications in Baish.

His Excellency the President of Jazan University, Prof. Mar’ei bin Hussein Al-Qahtani, congratulated the employees of the Faculties of Engineering and Industrial Applications in Baish, and the Deanship of Academic Development represented by its deans and all its faculty, administrative staff, and students for this achievement.

His Excellency stressed that this international accreditation is a continuation of the institutional and program accreditation that the university has achieved, and embodies the efforts and keenness of the university to ensure quality in academic practices, and their compatibility with international standards in specializations, to develop and build qualified human resources to achieve the aspirations of the rational leadership - supported by God - in a manner consistent with the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, and the Ministry of Education's major efforts in developing education and enhancing capabilities of its graduates.

It is noteworthy that ABET is an American non-profit organization that specializes in academic accreditation for engineering and technology, and it is an internationally accredited organization that constitutes more than 35 scientific and engineering professional societies, in which more than one and a half million members with experience in the academic and industrial fields participate. It has been in charge of setting and developing high quality standards for engineering education for more than 90 years.
