Jazan University: Media Department

Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Education, Mr. Youssef bin Muhammad Al-Bunyan, Jazan University will host the Cross Country Championships, which is organized by the Sports Federation of Saudi Universities.  The race is in its 13th season and will be held on 27 and 29 October 2022, with the participation of more than 120 students, representing 20 Saudi universities. The racers will cover a distance of 10 km, starting from the beginning of the walkway in the northern corniche of Jizan and ending at the University tower.

The Dean of Student Affairs at Jazan University and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Championship, Dr. Yahya bin Ali Faqihi, explained that the championship is one of the most important competitive events for the university sports season. He added, that the committees formed for this purpose have completed their preparations for the launch of the race, and each university will be represented by “4-6 players.”

For his part, the Secretary-General of the Sports Federation of Saudi Universities, Dr. Abdulelah bin Ahmed Salwi, expressed his thanks and appreciation to Jazan University, led by the President of the University, Prof. Mar’ei bin Hussein Al-Qahtani, its deputies, and the Dean of Student Affairs for hosting the championship, praising the great efforts made by the university to prepare the venue for the race and the felicitation ceremony.
