His Excellency the President of Jazan University, Prof. Mar’ei bin Hussein Al-Qahtani, congratulated the University’s employees and students on the occasion of the University achieving 12th place in the Kingdom, 44th among Arab universities, 88th in Middle Eastern countries, and 526th globally in its various researches according to Scimago’s classification. This is a major achievement that confirms our excellence and reflects the research efficiency and the increase in the volume of its research publications. The university also topped the list of universities in the field of dental research, where it came fourth in the Arab world and third nationally; As well as third nationally for its research in zoology, ENT and pathology.
His Excellency the President of the University thanked the wise leadership - may God preserve them - for the support and attention they bestow on the university, its employees and students, and to His Highness the Governor of the region and His Highness the Deputy Governor for their interest in the university’s achievements in a way that contributes to achieving the goals of sustainable development in our generous country, and to His Excellency the Minister of Education for his follow-up and directives to continue excellence and achievement.
His Excellency pointed out that the Spanish Simago classification is concerned with ranking universities and government institutions engaged in scientific research according to a composite index, which combines three different indicators, based on research performance (50%), innovation outcomes (30%), and societal impact (20%).
His Excellency stressed that the university has created a supportive and stimulating environment to build the capabilities of researchers, including faculty members in various colleges, as well as in its specialized research centers within its plans and strategy, and in accordance with the Kingdom's Vision 2030 with the aim of developing fields of scientific research during the past years, which enabled its successive achievements in scientific research and other fields.
