Jazan University: Media Department
Jazan University received a patent from the United States Patent and Trademark Office, after its research team in the College of Science was able to develop a new device and technology for generating plasma that is used in wide applications in our contemporary lives.
A member of the teaching staff in the Department of Chemistry at the Faculty of Science, Dr. Muhammad Atif, explained that, in partnership with Dr. Zakka Al-Islam Mujahid from the Department of Physics, we were able to develop a method and device for generating plasma using an electrical insulator or electrode with specific and regular patterns and shapes. One of the most important applications of this innovation is to contribute to addressing air pollution problems.
Dr. Atif stressed that this achievement was made possible due to the unlimited support that the university faculties enjoy from His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Mar’ei bin Hussein Al-Qahtani, and his continuous encouragement to achieve the aspirations of the wise leadership in advancing scientific research and innovation.
