Jazan University: Media Department

His Excellency the President of Jazan University, Prof. Dr. Mar’ei bin Hussein Al-Qahtani, on behalf of the University’s employees, extended his sincere congratulations to the wise leadership - may God protect them - on the occasion of the Foundation Day, which the university will celebrate in conjunction with the graduation ceremony of the 17^th batch of its students. It shall be next Tuesday evening, February 22, under the auspices of His Highness the Jazan region Governor and in the presence of His Highness his Deputy. Dr. Al-Qahtani stressed that the "Foundation Day" is an important day in our Kingdom’s history and is significant as we cherish it and it reaffirms our patriotism towards the homeland, and the close connection of the Saudi people to their leaders since the era of Imam Muhammad bin Saud three centuries ago.

This came during his presidency’s address at the Jazan University Council in its fifth session for the academic year 1443 AH this morning in the University Council Hall in the University’s Administrative Tower, in the presence of the Secretary-General for Universities Council Affairs, Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulaziz Al-Saleh, and members of the Council.

The Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Secretary of the University Council, Prof. Muhammad bin Hassan Abu Rasin, explained that the Council made a number of recommendations and decisions, including: appointing a number of Saudi faculty members (3 to the rank of assistant professor, 194 to the rank of lecturer) and approving, continuing and transferring scholarships (89) of teaching assistants and lecturers both male and female to pursue master’s and doctorate degrees in different disciplines. Awarding Master’s degree to (6) male and female graduate students, approving the restructuring of graduate programs (PhD degree - Master’s degree), and recommending the approval of merging the Department of (Pharmaceutical Chemistry) and Department (Pharmacology) at the College of Pharmacy in one department under the name of Department of (Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Pharmacognosy), and recommending approval of the amendment of the name of the Department of (Clinical Pharmacy) to the Department of (Pharmaceutical Practice), approving the formation of an investment committee to oversee the university’s investments, and approving the signing of a service contract between Jazan University and (QS).
