Jazan University’s Vice President for Academic Affairs inaugurates the vector-borne diseases exhibition

Jazan University Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Hassan bin Abdullah Ishaq, inaugurated the activities of the exhibition on vector-borne diseases and the accompanying scientific forum, at the College of Applied Medical Sciences auditorium in the University City, this morning. The forum is organized by the Department of Medical Laboratory Technology in cooperation with the Public Health Authority (Prevention) and the Municipality of Jazan University, the branch of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in Jazan, and the Saudi Veterinary Medical Association, with the aim of promoting the concept of one health, under the slogan of a society conscious of disease vectors.
The Dean of the College of Applied Medical Sciences, Dr. Ayman bin Muhammad Madkhali, explained that this exhibition and scientific forum reviews the great efforts made by various organisations in the field of disease vector control, and seeks to spread awareness among male and female students and members of society. Especially now that we are in the rainy season, we also aspire to promote the principle of one health, and the strengthening of cooperation between the various bodies related to disease vector control and Jazan University.
For his part, Dr. Abdullah Al-Qaisi, the Assistant Professor at the college, explained the importance of holding this event, through which we seek to spread awareness about the prevention of vector-borne diseases in easy and simple ways. He stressed that research on vector diseases is one of the research priorities of Jazan University for the comprehensive control of vectors and epidemics.
Al-Qaisi pointed out that 75% of infectious diseases are transmitted by vectors or common diseases, which are infectious diseases that are transmitted between humans and animals.
