Jazan University to organize workshops at the Seventh Honey Festival

Jazan University, represented by the Center for Environmental Research and Studies, is participating in the Seventh Honey Festival in the Civilization Center Square in Al-Aydabi Governorate, which will start tomorrow, Thursday, under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Nasser bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the region.
The Supervisor of the Center, Dr. Zarraq bin Issa Al-Fayfi, explained that the University shall be holding training workshops on honey production and quality, as well as combating infections that affect bees and cause damage to producers and breeders. In addition to providing educational and awareness guidance to improve the region's agricultural and environmental products.
The Center for Environmental Research and Studies works to provide a specialized service for the Kingdom and the Jazan region in particular for its agricultural advantage by supporting and encouraging the conduct of applied and basic research and scientific cooperation in the field of the environment with local and international research centers. It is characterized by scientific publications in various environmental sciences, where it succeeded in many research projects, including the project of planting oud and sandalwood trees in mountainous areas, and finding solutions to the deterioration of ficus trees and juniper forests in the region.
The Environmental Research and Studies Center includes a number of specialized laboratories equipped according to the highest international quality standards: the plant environment lab, the environmental chemistry lab, the insect lab, the central lab, the microbiology lab, and the weather station, in addition to the natural nursery, and the greenhouse, which is a nursery. Climate patterns are controlled for the purpose of study and scientific research
