The Deanship of Student Affairs Female section marked the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women under the auspices of the Vice Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Ashwaq Othman Al-Bakri, at the Girls Colleges Complex at Mahliyya, in the presence of faculty members, administrators and students.

Dr. Al-Bakri confirmed that through this event, we at Jazan University aim to bring awareness regarding the dangers of gender-based violence and to call for an immediate end to all forms of violence against women. We also seek to emphasize the need to protect and support women, especially since violence directed at women and girls is one of the most widespread and destructive. It is a persistent violation of human rights, and its economic cost has become very high, as it hinders women from effectively participating in the society. Therefore, in addition to fairness and equality, the call to stop violence is also a developmental requirement.

During the event, awareness leaflets and encouraging messages were distributed, and many gifts were distributed to the participants and attendees.
