Jazan University: Media Department

Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Education, Dr. Hammad bin Muhammad Al Al-Sheikh, His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Education for Universities, Research and Innovation, Dr. Muhammad bin Ahmed Al-Sudairy, inaugurated the activities of the first Saudi Universities Theater Festival, as well as the exhibition of the achievements of Jazan University for Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the Academic Complex in the evening, in the presence of His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Mar’ei bin Hussein Al-Qahtani.

His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Education for Universities, Research and Innovation, Dr. Muhammad bin Ahmed Al-Sudairy, delivered a speech on this occasion, in which he praised Jazan University’s organization of the festival’s activities to come up with integrated strategic partnerships, and to benefit from opportunities that may arise due to inter university communication and cooperation between students in a way that develops the intellect and talents of our children.

His Excellency also stressed that the university theater carries educational dimensions and contributes to enhancing the knowledge and skill aspects of students, enriching the cultural movement in the Kingdom, and achieving the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 by presenting purposeful student plays, and implementing specialized training courses in acting and theater directing, and various theatrical arts contributing to the development of the nation’s theater scene, and raising the level of awareness and culture in the community.

After that, His Excellency the President of Jazan University, the General Supervisor of the festival, Prof. Mar’ei bin Hussein Al-Qahtani, gave a speech in which he affirmed the pride of Jazan University in its people and its community’s passion for creativity and culture. We feel immense pride in hosting and organizing the first Saudi Universities Theater Festival, which takes place in the inspiring and rich Jazan region that is full of artists, creators and intellectuals. The Festival has been organised under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Education, Dr. Hammad Al Al-Sheikh; for which the President extended his thanks and gratitude to him for his support.

Following which, the CEO of the Theater and Performing Arts Authority, Mr. Sultan bin Abdul Rahman Al-Bazai, delivered a recorded speech. After that, Jazan University felicitated Mr. Abdullah Bahtab for his efforts in the university theater, as well as Mr. Yasser Madkhali for the richness and distinction of his theatrical experience, and the festival's partners were also honored.
