Jazan University: Media Department

Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Education, Dr. Hammad bin Muhammad Al Al Sheikh, and in the presence of His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Education for Universities, Research and Innovation, Dr. Muhammad bin Ahmed Al-Sudairy, Jazan University will organize next week the first Saudi Universities Theater Festival, from 6-10 December 2021, with the participation of 11 Saudi universities and more than 100 students.

For his part, the President of Jazan University, Prof. Mar’ei bin Hussain Al-Qahtani, and the General Supervisor of the festival, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Minister of Education, Prof. Hammad bin Muhammad Al Al-Sheikh, for his generous sponsorship of the festival, the opening ceremony of which will be witnessed by the Deputy Minister of Education for Universities, Research and Innovation, Dr. Muhammad bin Ahmed Al-Sudairy.

Al-Qahtani stressed that the festival is an opportunity to motivate talents to emerge and support the creativities to enrich the Saudi theater scene, based on the Ministry of Education’s support for culture and arts and to enhance integration with the efforts of the Ministry of Culture to achieve the 2030 vision of the nation, which stipulates that culture is one of the components of quality of life.

While the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Hassan bin Abdullah Ishaq, explained that Jazan University is keen, through its organization of the festival, to develop creativity and unravel the promising talents from among the Saudi university students, adding that the festival will honor a number of personalities who have contributed to enriching and supporting the Saudi university theater.

The Dean of Student Affairs and Festival President, Dr. Othman bin Musa Hakami, indicated that the festival will witness the presentation of 11 theatrical performances at the theater of the Academic Complex at Mahliya, and the theater of the Cultural Center in Jazan, and will provide participants with a training environment in the field of theater, acting and composition by providing training workshops, in addition to providing practical seminars after the end of each theatrical performance, with the participation of a group of specialists in the field of acting and theater directing.
