Jazan University: Media Department

Jazan University, represented by the Student Activity Unit in the College of Nursing (Female Section), organized activities to mark World Diabetes Day. The aim was to raise society’s awareness about all types of diabetes and how to prevent it by following a healthy lifestyle for the individual and the community. This initiative included two campaigns with the slogan “By joining us, you protect yourself from diabetes,” in the presence of the Vice Dean for the Female Section of the College of Nursing, Dr. Noura Bazakh Madkhali, and a march under the slogan “Join us and prevent diabetes.”

The first campaign was implemented in Kadi Mall in partnership with the Armed Forces Hospital in Jazan and Prince Muhammad bin Nasser Hospital. The second campaign was held in Al-Salem Mall in the governorate of Samtah, in partnership with Al-Tuwal General Hospital and the Secondary School for Girls in Majar. This initiative also included a march on the northern Corniche, which was in partnership with the branch of the Ministry of Sports in Jazan.

The two campaigns included stands educating about the measurement of sugar levels, nutrition and sports, psychological support and health education. The march also included a walking race for all segments of society, and prizes were distributed to the winners.
