Seminar on Intellectual Property and Patents at Jazan University

The Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Jazan University, in cooperation with the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property, and in the presence of the University’s Vice President for Development and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Naief Azyabi, organized a scientific symposium entitled “Intellectual Property and Patents” for an innovative society. The symposium was presented by Mr. Muhammad bin Nasser Al-Zarawi, Director of the Treaty Department Cooperation with the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property, and Dr. Anwar bin Shawqi Al-Hazmi, Assistant Professor at the University’s College of Dentistry and an inventor in the field of orthodontics, yesterday morning at the College of Computer Science and Information Technology auditorium and in the presence of the Center’s Supervisor, Dr. Omaima Al-Badri.

During the symposium, Mr. Al-Tharawi presented an introduction on how to submit international patent applications, the role of the Saudi Authority, and the international mechanisms and standards followed in this field.

For his part, Dr. Al-Hazmi referred during the symposium to the elaborate steps in transforming scientific research from a theoretical method into an invention that can be implemented in reality, after achieving a number of scientific and practical criteria.
