Jizan University holds a forum on “The role of the teacher in times of crisis”

His Excellency the President of Jazan University, Prof. Dr. Mar’ei bin Hussein Al-Qahtani, commended the cabinet’s praise for the efforts and dedication of teachers and the important role they play in preparing future generations in spreading knowledge. Dr. Al-Qahtani stressed that Jazan University’s initiative in honoring male and female teachers comes as an extension of what the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and his Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman, “may God protect them” has undertaken in supporting the teacher and the educational process alike.

The Vice Dean for Student Affairs (Female Section), Professor Dr. Aisha Bint Hassan Zakry, confirmed that the teacher’s role has shifted from spreading knowledge to supporting and developing life skills necessary for the future, according to new trends and changing strategies to achieve his nation’s vision towards the future of our children.

This came during the forum organized by University College Al-Aarda entitled “The Role of the Teacher in Times of Crisis and the Perception of the Future of Education” in celebration of the International Teacher’s Day 2020 yesterday evening, with the participation of the University’s Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abu Rasin, the University Vice President, Prof. Muhammad Ma’ashi, in addition to a group of College deans and university faculty members.

For her part, the Dean of the University College Al-Aarda, Dr. Marwa Bakri, confirmed that the forum witnessed many sessions and themes that focused on the role of the teacher and the future of education, aiming at excellence and advancement in the development of education through its various stages and curricula. She thanked His Excellency the President of the University for his constant and continuous support to the college and the speakers, participants, and organizing committees for the forum.
