Jazan University students commence their academic year with advanced online services
His Excellency the President of Jazan University, Prof. Dr. Mar’ei bin Hussein Al-Qahtani, welcomed the sons and daughters, the University’s students at the start of the academic year 1442 AH. He stressed that the University has completed all its preparations and devoted all its capabilities to assist the students in commencing their classes, in addition to applying the precautionary measures to preserve the safety and health of the University’s employees and students while ensuring the educational progress and achieving a quality academic environment.
His Excellency said: I am pleased to welcome all University students, and the new students who are proud of their affiliation to their University this year, adding that despite all the challenges brought about by the Corona pandemic, the university thanks to God and then with the support of the wise leadership, and the dedication of its employees continued to achieve its goals and successes. He stressed that we are counting on our students to advance their scientific knowledge and excellence, to participate in the development process and build the future of our dear, beloved country, indicating that the university will continue to work diligently to improve the level of services provided to its students, and to take all preventive precautions to preserve their health and safety.
While the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Hassan bin Abdullah Ishaq, explained that the University approved several regulations for the progress of the educational process during the first semester, including teaching the theoretical side of scientific courses “remotely” through virtual classes through the electronic system “Blackboard”, in addition to working out a strategy to teach subjects at health colleges, scientific departments and other colleges that have a practical or clinical aspect, so that they are conducted in attendance or by the method of blended education, in order to ensure that the precautionary measures are achieved to preserve the health of students and university education personnel.
It is noteworthy that Jazan University includes more than 60,000 students studying in 23 colleges, which grant 3 academic degrees, namely: master’s, bachelor’s and diploma, and the university provides nearly 100 qualitative specializations in line with the needs of the labor market and in line with the goals of the Kingdom’s 2030 vision.
