Jazan University saves more than 15 million riyals through efficient spending
Jazan University announced that it has achieved financial savings by eliminating a number of rented buildings during the past three years, as well as reducing the value of the rent of a number of facilities.
His Excellency the President of Jazan University, Prof. Dr. Mar’ei bin Hussein Al-Qahtani, said that the university aimed to achieve efficient spending and financial balance, by strengthening effective planning for managing financial resources in accordance with the best practices, based on its development plans. We hope that it will positively reflect on the development process consistent with what the country is experiencing in various fields and to achieve the goals of the Kingdom’s ambitious 2030 Vision.
His Excellency Dr. Al-Qahtani praised the support of His Excellency the Minister of Education, Dr. Hammad Al-Sheikh, for the University and its efforts to cut down on the expenditures. He also thanked the University’s budget allocation team for their efforts in studying the details of spending and operational practices and identifying opportunities for cutting costs and the resulting savings in the University’s budget.
His Excellency, Dr. Al-Qahtani, stated that contracts for 12 facilities, totaling 7,255,500 riyals, have been dispensed with, stressing that contracts for a number of buildings will also be dispensed with during this year, with a total of 8,300,000 Riyals. He added that the University succeeded in reducing the value of a number of lease contracts by an amount of 4,000,00 riyals, thus bringing the total savings: 15,955,500 fifteen million, nine hundred fifty-five thousand, and five hundred riyals.
It is noteworthy that Jazan University achieved third place in the Kingdom in terms of spending efficiency for government agencies, relying on its young team of Saudi engineers, and dispensed with concluding a maintenance contract worth 4,500,000 four million five hundred thousand riyals.
