His Excellency the President of Jazan University, Prof. Dr. Mar’ei bin Hussein Al-Qahtani, approved the recommendation of the University Council to transfer the tourism management specialization from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities to the College of Business Administration

For his part, the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Hassan Ishaq, praised the approval by His Excellency the President of the University to transfer the specialization of tourism management, which comes in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. Since tourism is one of the pillars of the national economy, Dr. Ishaq added that this Management course aims to qualify students academically to contribute towards the development of domestic tourism.

Dr. Ishaq added that the tourism management specialization at Jazan University is unique in terms of content and quality, as the curriculum has been developed after referring to the best 20 international universities of Europe, America and Australia, adding that the specialization is concerned with qualifying students in all fields related to tourism. Mainly among them is economics, management, marketing, planning, culture, environment and technology. The Bachelor’s program in Tourism Management shall qualify students to work in a number of sectors, such as the Ministry of Tourism and its departments concerned with tourist destinations, the General Authority for Entertainment, the General Authority for Exhibitions and Conferences, the airport departments, the secretariats of regions and municipalities, tourism and travel companies, and the organization of trips and tourist guides, as well as hospitality sector, hotels and resorts. The program also prepares students in aspects related to tourism investment and entrepreneurship.
