Jazan University holds a workshop on protecting public funds in cooperation with “Nazaha”

His Excellency the President of Jazan University, Prof. Dr. Mar’ei bin Hussein Al-Qahtani, in the presence of His Excellency Vice President of the Control and Anti-Corruption Authority, Dr. Bandar bin Ahmed Aba Al-Khail, today, Monday, opened a workshop on “Protecting Public Funds” organized by Jazan University through video conferencing in cooperation as part of the “Our Homeland is Trust” program. The participants included directors of general health, secretariat, transport and trade from the region.

His Excellency the President of the University affirmed in his opening speech that the workshop “Protecting Public Funds” comes in fulfillment of the directives of the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence – may God protect them. The aim is to protect public funds, promote the values ​​of integrity and combat corruption.

His Excellency added that Jazan University, based on its commitment to achieving the objectives of the National Strategy for the Protection of Integrity and Combating Corruption, and the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 is keen to activate the areas of partnership with the Supervision and Anti-Corruption Authority, whether in the field of scientific, training and educational programs.

Dr. Bandar bin Ahmed Aba Al-Khail, praised the University’s efforts during the past period, and is looking forward to more efforts through which we are working to spread the culture of integrity, enhance the principle of transparency and accountability, and spread awareness about the concepts of professional behavior and ethics and awareness.

The Dean of the College of Sharia and Law, Dr. Asim bin Muhammad Madkhali, the Executive Supervisor of the joint program between the Anti-Corruption Authority and Jazan University, explained that the workshop aims to raise awareness about the concept of protecting public money and related regulations, discussing the mechanisms related to it, and reviewing practical cases in cases of embezzlement and misuse of public funds He added that the workshop consists of two sessions, the first discussing: the regulatory framework for protecting public money, and the second discussing: images and effects of the misuse of public funds targeting the directors of government agencies’ branches in the region
