111,000 lectures conducted in 7 weeks for Jazan University students
Jazan University has conducted over 111,000 “remote” lectures for its students during these 7 weeks since the commencement of lectures for the first semester of this year, during which 2,711 faculty members at the University taught 2,287 courses to more than 49 thousand male and female students, while the virtual classroom metrics recorded 111,190 lectures. The total duration was 289,396 hours since the beginning of the current semester.
His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Mar’ei bin Hussein Al-Qahtani stressed 6 global organisations have praised the Kingdom’s efforts for the speed at which it responded, the multiplicity of options and the continuous improvement of online education during the Coronavirus pandemic. It is a unique national achievement in the eyes of the world in light of the unlimited support that the education sector receives from our rational leaders May God protect them. It also embodies the great efforts made by Saudi universities under the close supervision and follow-up of His Excellency the Minister of Education, Dr. Hammad AlSheikh. Dr. Al-Qahtani said that the distinguished successes achieved by the University are due to the excellence of the University’s students. He extended his thanks to the faculty members for their efforts and to the University’s partners and the families and parents for their contribution in making this entire mode of learning a success. The University has devoted all its facilities to fully develop the advanced educational system with a commitment to apply precautionary measures and protocols for facing the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic.
While the Dean of E-Learning and Information Technology, Dr. Ibrahim Ghashim, explained that the Deanship continues to provide its online services in a way that enhances its distinction in providing its educational programs “remotely”, through a variety of services that contribute to enhancing the success of this mode of learning and it has been confirmed by the numbers.
Dr. Ghashim indicated that the statistics recorded during the past 7 weeks reiterate the excellence in performance, as discussion boards reached 112,318, while 8,187,895 files were reviewed.
