Awareness program "Your environment knows you" at the University College of Samtah (previously)
In order to activate Environment Week 2023, the University College of Samtah presents an awareness program “Your Environment Knows You”, which aims to raise the level of environmental awareness and promote positive environmental behaviors among the college’s employees. The program was organized by the College Vice Deanship for Research and Development in cooperation with the academic departments and support units of the College. The program includes a number of activities, including scientific lectures on renewable energy and its effective role in protecting the environment, and discussing the importance of green chemistry in obtaining a sustainable green future. The program also includes an awareness meeting about waste damage to the environment and the importance of waste sorting, recycling and manufacturing processes to reduce waste production, and presenting examples and practices on reusing and employing waste in innovative ways. The program also includes an interactive meeting "Let's make it green", which aims to raise awareness of the importance of vegetation cover, discuss the causes of desertification, and promote the importance of afforestation to reduce climate change and improve the quality of life. As well as awareness of the most important ways to care for some indoor and outdoor plants. In order to enhance the role of the student in protecting the environment, the program includes the launch of the "Basqat" competition, which aims to plant the surroundings of the college, motivate students to take care of plants, and develop a sense of responsibility in preserving the environment.
The program also includes a competition, “Do it with Art,” which aims to promote the importance of reusing and recycling old or damaged products, and treating them in innovative scientific or artistic ways to present a new and useful product. The students’ creativity will be presented and evaluated, and the first places will be honored.
